It's a crushed banana. Although Weedy mainly consumes a carnivorous diet of crickets, she seems to like this. You can see her little lizard tongue as she licks it off my finger, it's kind of cute. :)

My mother-in-law (Mama John) and I were looking into using henna to color my hair red.  Mama John had heard about it through one of her friends.  It's supposed to be natural and really good for your hair... makes it all shiny and stuff.  The Egyptians have been using it for thousands of years.  We couldn't find it ANYWHERE.  We finally went to a salon and got tipped off as to where we could find some.  We were sent to this tiny Lebanese super-market.  The only henna product they had was "Henna El Captain."  The outside of the box wasn't even in English.  It looked a little sketchy overall.  We ended up buying  it, then got home and looked at the instructions. This is what it reads, word for word (no joke!!!):

Henna El Captain

Composition:

Henna contain fixed natural pigments of plants that importants: 

Lawsone, mannite, and tannic acid act astringent, antiseptics.  

Properties: 

Lawson, mannite that responsible of pigments found in henna.

Tannic acid act ad astringent, antiseptic, filter the scalp from microbes, parasite & fat excreation.

Also reduce sweat excreat and after that disappear Moisture.

Henna elcaptain has many benefits:

Wow.  Why didn't I put this in my hair???  Just think, I could've looked like her!

   When my sister-in-law, Teri, heard about the henna, she said "DO NOT PUT THAT IN HILLERY'S HAIR!!!!"  She had researched it and found out that it totally coats the shaft of the hair and never comes off.  Because henna can have some adverse reactions with other hair dyes (which would make your hair break off), you'd have to either use henna again or let your hair grow completely out if you wanted to color your hair again.  She also said to make sure it's FDA approved (I'm pretty sure Henna El Captain is not).  Sometimes they use lead instruments in order to make the henna (yikes).
